The Brief
Cystic fibrosis is a life-shortening genetic condition and currently only half will live to celebrate their fortieth birthday. Suffering with the disease is like breathing through a straw. But with the right treatment people can breathe more easily and lead a more normal life.
The Big Idea
To raise awareness of the condition we recorded a charity single made entirely using the sound of people breathing. 30 of the nation’s best loved celebs donated their breaths to the track including James Corden, Jack Whitehall, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Rita Ora. Their breathing was weaved into an original and powerful score, with a music video charting the life of a cystic fibrosis sufferer. The track also contained the laboured breaths of people living with cystic fibrosis, creating a thought-provoking contrast between healthy and afflicted lungs.
