The Brief
Every year Kraken drops a new limited-edition rum with an enthralling back story to accompany it. This year we were briefed with creating a narrative and launch film for the final bottle in the brand’s Unknown Deep series that would take viewers into the deep, dark and mysterious world of the Kraken.
The Big Idea
We built a narrative called ‘Touched by the Deep’. The story followed a diver in a submersible who miraculously made it out of the deepest ocean trenches alive after a terrifying encounter with an unknown presence. But they brought back to the surface far more than a rare treasure. Something dark came with them.
Our approach combined visual effects and computer-generated imagery with an acted performance and practical videography to produce a truly epic launch film. The content was launched and boosted through social media to coincide with the drop of the new bottle on Amazon.
