Back by popular demand The Kraken Black Spiced Rum has returned with its annual Halloween event with a twist: Screamfest: The Director’s Cut, a unique Halloween bar and horror experience, which promised to give nightmares to those brave enough to enter…

 

We joined forces with the esteemed Hollywood horror filmmaker Neil Marshall, famed for The Descent, Dog Soldiers and Game of Thrones, to direct every detail of the two-day event. This includesthe narrative and wider script, characters to décor, and even down to insights on how to delivery the cocktails (check out our blood bag cocktail below, it was delicious! – with each element being given a terrifying ‘Marshall twist’.

 

Besides the usual press around Neil coming on board, we persuaded the testing panel for the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC)to attend a run through of the immersive experience, where based ‘death, violence and strong aggressive language’ the bar was given an official 18 rating certificate – the first bar to be given the accolade in its 100 year history.

 

After 48 hours of a being scared out of our wits we counted almost 400 of the public snapped up tickets, tens of media and influencers attended, we secured 64 pieces of coverage including Mail Online, Metro, The Sun, Time Out, NME, ShortList.What’s more,Kraken’s social media pages saw reach of over 1 million, an influx of 2,659new followers on Instagram and a 5.3% average engagement rate across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
