We hunted high and low, far and wide to find the winner for the inaugural MORE TH>N Pet Pad Of The Year competition, but such efforts were worth it, with a peach of a winning entry arriving in the form of a scale replica family home built in a back garden for a St. Bernard.

The triumphant animal house belongs to a two-year-old pooch called Wellington, and brings new meaning to the old phrase ‘in the doghouse’ – being an incredibly detailed recreation of the owner’s abode.

In fact, so painstakingly true to life was the canine crib it featured all of the mod cons of the three-bedroom detached it was based on – including floor and wall insulation, carpets, lighting, rippled Cotswold windows, guttering, a slate roof and a glorious garden.

The MORE TH>N Pet Pad Of The Year competition called on pet lovers across the country to show MORE TH>N the weird and wonderful habitats they had created for their four-legged friends. The competition was judged by celebrity dog owner Dawn O’Porter and TV vet Marc Abraham.

The story also went down a storm with the media, securing a full page in the Daily Express together with strong pick up in The Times, Mail Online, Huffington Post, London Evening Standard, Times Online and Express Online. Along with the ‘Bedtime Story For Dogs’ this campaign was part of the entry that saw us win the CIPR Excellence Award for Media Relations.
