Earlier this year, Three announced that its marvellous Feel At Home service – which allows customers to call, text and use the internet at no extra cost – would be extending to Spain and New Zealand.
So to teach the 13 million British holidaymakers heading to Spain this year a touch of Spanglish before they jetted off, we teamed up with Hollywood hard-man and football legend Vinnie Jones to create a Spanish language video tutorial like no other.
The 2 minute film sees Vinnie run through some key phrases that cover all eventualities including “Podrías darme tu número?” or “Is it OK if I get your number?” and “¡Eh, tío! Ven aquí para que salgas en este selfie!” Or, “ Oi, come over here and get in this selfie, mate.”
We were certainly speaking the media’s language with this left-field campaign, with nearly 100 pieces of coverage appearing across Daily Mirror, Mail Online, Metro, Daily Star, The Independent, Daily Telegraph, Soccer AM, Digital Spy, City AM, The Drum and Marketing to name a few. On top of this, the video was viewed nearly 200,000 times on YouTube in just one week. ‘Fantástico’, as Vinnie may or may not say.
Spain and New Zealand will join France, Switzerland, Israel, Finland, Norway, USA, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Macau, Australia, Italy, Austria, Hong Kong, Sweden, Denmark and Republic of Ireland, where the Feel at Home service is currently available.
