Christmas 2016 saw the opening of the darkest festive experience on our shores: the first ever all (naturally) black Christmas dinner, brought to you by The Kraken Black Spiced Rum.
Guests tucked in to a feasting menu of Black Beast Branded Devon red rare roast beef; black charcoal bread & black pudding stuffing; and black heritage black carrots roasted with cumin & honey and Black rich spiced Christmas pudding with almonds infused with The Kraken Black Spiced Rum. They were enveloped by a warm dark Christmas spirit as they sat at lavishly decorated banqueting benches, surrounded by black Christmas trees, gifts and wreaths. And to top it off, a dreamlike gentle snowfall drifted down towards them from within the restaurant’s high arches; a spectacular effect created by Olivier award-winning lighting designers, magically completing the surreal experience.
And of course there was a very special menu of Kraken cocktails available too. Thanks to some stonking coverage in Time Out, The Evening Standard, The Mail Online, Metro, Mirror Online and more, feast tickets sold out in double-quick time. 200+ guests attended including a mix of rum-loving consumers, a host of national and lifestyle media including Esquire, Grazia and Cosmo and even Masterchef’s Jack and Billy. By the time we shut up shop three days later we had achieved 31 pieces of coverage, including further articles in Grazia and repeat mentions in Time Out (five in total).
