Three | Press office
We may not have been in San Francisco for the big announcement but the excitement was felt back here at Cow HQ as the team launched the eagerly anticipated new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on Three to the UK media.
We ramped up the excitement on announcement day by giving the journalists not lucky enough to make the key note event in the States, a chance to ‘Party Like the USA’, delivering them US themed goodies throughout the day, to not only get them through one of their busiest days of the year, but keep Three front of mind at a time when it mattered most. From American coffee to perk up their morning, doughnuts as a mid afternoon snack, and pizza and American beer to get them through a long night in the office, our Party Like the USA packs went down a treat.
We were then hot off the mark, battling out with the other networks to ensure that Three was first to press as soon as the new devices were revealed by Apple – resulting in Three being featured in the 100% of first write-ups on the device that featured a network, with coverage in the likes of Daily Mirror, City AM, Tech Radar, Trusted Reviews and many more.
Three continued to lead the way in the iPhone coverage battle, as the team generated 39 articles on Three’s tariffs when the iPhone was available to pre-order, to drive as much online traffic and physical footfall to stores during this key time for the network. Also key was communicating the other main key reasons to buy the new iPhone on Three, with customers not only able to take advantage of being able to use their phone abroad at no extra cost in 42 destinations worldwide as well as those outside of the EU, but also Three’s 4G Super Voice service, for superior indoor coverage – these key messages landed in 80% of coverage, equalling one happy client. Everyone from Daily Star, Daily Express, Daily Mirror, Daily Telegraph, The Sun, Stuff, and Shortlist covered Three’s great deals.
Since then we’ve been running a solid loans programme for the national, consumer tech and lifestyle press to grab those all important first look reviews, securing some pretty impressive hits to date with the likes of T3, Forbes, Recombu and Esquire.
That’s one pretty impressive launch, if we do say so ourselves!
