Wit and Wunderkammer

Cow treated Manchester to a night of Wit and Wunderkammer as Paul Foot teamed up with Royal Czech Beer Krušovice to curate a comedic, modern-day Cabinet Of Curiosities.

The event at Cottonpolis was inspired by Krušovice’s 15th century owner King Rudolf II (aka ‘The Mad Alchemist’) and his unrivalled ‘Wunderkammer’ (Europe’s most extensive Cabinet of Curiosities). We invited media, bloggers and locals to bring along unusual items to add to Paul’s very own collection of oddities. And the audience didn’t disappoint…

While the eccentric King Rudolf boasted uncut diamonds, mathematical instruments and paintings in his cabinet, Manchester honoured the stage and presented award-winning comedian Foot with a porcelain hand, taxidermy chicks and a puffer fish, among other whimsical wares.

Krušovice’s in-house beer expert and sommelier Sam Surl was on-hand to furnish the audience with the history and rituals of the premium Czech libation, including recreating its imperial pour.
