Cow creates a burger bonanza in Newcastle

Posted on 8 August, 2011

As part of Burger King’s new ’20/20′ remodelling programme, Cow was tasked with creating a bespoke campaign for the new Newcastle restaurant.  Enlisting the help of local station Metro Radio, Cow created and implemented the campaign in just 2 weeks – but still generated great results!  With an appearance in the restaurant by 5 of the Newcastle Falcons rugby team (pictured), a live outside radio broadcast by Metro’s own Anna Foster from the restaurant on opening day, key Facebook integration and even a face painter for the kids, the team helped to deliver a superb opening for BK, with a measurable sales uplift as a result.

Cows Martin and Paddy were on hand to handle the influx of hungry Geordies who, at points, were queuing out of the door to get in.  Result!

Cow delivers the ultimate WAG Pad guide for Zoopla.co.uk

Posted on 5 August, 2011

With excitement hotting up ahead of the new Premiership season, Cow has managed to net an absolute stunner before a ball has even been kicked in anger – getting almost blanket coverage for today’s scoop on the WAG Pad Premier League with our client, and leading property website, Zoopla.co.uk!

Using statistics provided entirely by zoopla.co.uk, we got down and dirty researching location and average house values to ensure that the Abbey Clanceys and Christine Bleakleys of this world know exactly where the hottest locations are should their other halves find themselves on the end of a big money move. You’re welcome ladies!

And with The Daily Mirror, The Times, The Daily Express, The Mail Online, The Mirror Online, The Express Online and The Metro, not to mention half a page in the Daily Star, all getting onboard to share our juicy findings – we hope that some of them have taken note. After all, what would a WAG do without the knowledge that with an average house price of £1.4million, footballing hotspot Oxshott is the UK’s number one, most exclusive WAG location – or the fact that wantaway striker Carlos Tevez’s house in Prestbury could just be the WAG transfer coup of the summer with a likely asking price of around £5million.

Nick Leeming, Business Development Director, Zoopla.co.uk said: “Like the best footballers, the exclusive homes tend to be snapped up quickly by those who can afford them and want to make a statement about their spending power. To afford a place in Oxshott the likelihood is you’d need to be on a Premier League salary to get a sniff of anything on the market. If you fancy living somewhere with nail bars and boutiques packed with WAGS but can’t afford a palace, the best place in terms of value is definitely the North West.”

Cow assembles Vuvuzela Orchestra for Africa Channel at Skyfest

Posted on 28 July, 2011

Cows love a moment in the limelight… So you can imagine our excitement when our clients at The Africa Channel asked us to help them put together a performance for this year’s Skyfest. It needed to get the crowd of Sky employees, their friends and families bopping to a set that portrayed the loud, proud, colourful continent, and encourage a bit of audience participation to boot.

Simple yet effective, rather wonderfully mad and totally African – we decided to create the Africa Channel Vuvuzela Orchestra. How? Take an internationally renowned group of African jazz musicians, led by Claude Deppa, one of the best trumpet players to come out of Africa, and replace their instruments with vuvuzelas.

Their musical kaleidoscope represented the continent through an intoxicating mix of Afro-jazz, soul and funk infused with salsa and reggae, featuring vuvuzelas all the way through. Oh, and a bit of Dizzee Rascal – for which audience members joined them on stage to close the show following a series of vuvuzela music lessons.

New Cow Paddy joins the herd!

Posted on 26 July, 2011

We’re always excited when a new calf pokes their head into the Cow stable, but it’s rare they come quite as decorated as our newest recruit, Paddy Hobbs. Fresh of face and already settling in wonderfully, he arrives from male grooming product brand Bulldog – where he played a key role in turning Bulldog from a start-up company stocked in only 300 stores, to the UK’s fastest growing men’s skincare brand, available in over 5,000 stores worldwide – as well as handling all the online press for massively successful David Mitchell’s Soap Box online comedy show. Nice one Paddy!

Add to that the fact that he arrives with a series of awards and accolades, including a place in PR Week’s ‘29 Under 29’ most promising young professionals in the PR industry, being shortlisted for CIPR’s ‘Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year’ Award 2010 – not to mention having been part of PR Week’s ‘Most Entrepreneurial in-House Team’ runners-up last year… It’s a phenomenal record and one that convinced us he was right for the job.

It was a good 2010 for Paddy, and here’s hoping 2011 will be even better.

5 out of 5 for The Range range

Posted on 7 July, 2011

We’re celebrating our latest triumph here at Cow HQ. A full page in Ideal Home for our home retail client, The Range, which was obtained by Cow – and aced by the guys ‘on the coalface’ who provided wonderful service, whilst offering a great range as ever in store – as The Range was secretly profiled by the magazine’s ‘Shopping Spy’ section of Ideal Home Magazine.

Describing the ‘chatty lady on the till’ as great, and the store itself as ‘a one-stop shop with everything you could possibly need at great prices” and received 5/5 stars for stock. Praise indeed from the leading publication in the home magazine world! The coverage is the latest export from a seamless press office for The Range, which has seen on average three pieces of national coverage secured a week.

Their final advice was that their readers do not leave the store without craft kits and canvases, bargain oilcloth fabric and a statement mirror – and we can’t argue with that.

The coverage is below, or to see the image in full, head over to our facebook page.
