Project: First Ever Bedtime Story For Dogs

He may be better known for treading the boards in Shakespearian adaptations, but when Cow and MORE TH>N approached Simon Callow, we had more seasonal aspirations in mind. Because with Roman Candles fizzing, Rockets squealing and a whole host of other terrifying firework sounds scaring our canine pals witless- we thought that this was just about the right time to get together with dog behaviourist Karen Wild to create The World’s First Bedtime Story for Dogs. All narrated by the soothing tones of Simon, and just right to calm them down with the nasty noises.

And as we remember, remember the 5th November, our story, Teddy and Stanley’s Tall Tale, has been wonderfully received all over! Amongst some seriously sizable print and online coverage in The Guardian, Guardian.co.uk, The Independent, Independent.co.uk, Metro, Metro.co.uk, Daily Telegraph, Telegraph Online, Mail Online, Daily Star, Daily Star Online , The Sun, Sun Online and Radio Times we’ve also seen Five Live, BBC Radio Four’s Today and You And Yours and BBC News run lovely pieces.

Meanwhile, social networking sites have buzzed all the world, with over 25,000 views of the YouTube video, links from the likes of Guardian Books and Visit England, and, most importantly, appreciative dogs owners who have already fed back to say the story and Callow has sent their dogs into a happy slumber. Job done. So, rest assured, it’s not just another shaggy dog story after all.
