Congratulations to the Cows in Cape Town for being finalists in South Africa’s digital marketing awards – The Bookmarks!
‘Mobikasi’ (on behalf of client The Grid, the mobile social network for Vodacom) is up for the mobile advertising category. Mobikasi (“Kasi” means township) is a geo-tagged mobile documentary exploring youth culture in Soweto. Instead of showing the documentary in a linear fashion, the film was split up into 25 1-minute segments.
Each clip is geo-tagged to the location in which it was shot (meaning you can even use it as a virtual tour guide). A first of it’s kind meant media coverage across broadcast, print and online to drive awareness and sign-ups.
Winners will be announced in Johannesburg on 12 November.
